This policy explains what information 4GRAND (“we”) collects when you use grand.tennis, thegrand.nyc or courts.tennis, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Your phone number, which you give us to sign in (we text you a one-time code) and to receive messages about your pools.
- A display name you choose, shown to other players in your pools.
- Your gameplay: the pools you join, the picks you make, and your standings.
- Usage and device data: basic analytics about how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type), collected through cookies if you accept them, and in a limited form without cookies if you do not.
How we use your information
- To sign you in and run your pools.
- To send you text messages: your sign-in code, gameplay reminders (such as when new matches are open to pick), results and recaps, and occasional messages inviting you back for a new tournament.
- To measure and improve the site.
- To keep the service secure and to comply with the law.
Text messages
When you sign in with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages from 4GRAND related to your account and gameplay, plus occasional messages about new tournaments. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts may limit gameplay features that rely on messaging.
Cookies and analytics
One cookie is set the first time you arrive, whatever you choose in the cookie banner. It is called t1_aid, it holds a random identifier, and it lasts a year, so that repeat visits can be counted as one person rather than several. If you arrive on a link carrying a club or campaign code, a second cookie called t1_src records which link it was, for the same length of time. Neither is linked to your name or phone number unless you go on to sign in.
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used. The measurement script loads on every visit, but it stores nothing on your device until you accept in our cookie banner. Until you accept, and if you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google still receives a basic record of the page view without cookies, including the page address, the time, your browser and where you arrived from, which is used only to estimate overall traffic.
Accepting also turns on our own measurement of how a page is used: how far it was scrolled, what was clicked, and whether something was clicked repeatedly because it did not work. That records the shape of a visit and never its content. It does not read what you type and it does not record your screen. You can change your mind by clearing your browser storage for this site.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate the product on our behalf: a messaging provider (to send texts), hosting and database providers (to run the site), a payment processor (Stripe, for the one-time fee to create a private pool), and Google (analytics, and limited cookieless measurement even if you decline).
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to run the service. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time (see Your choices).
Your choices
- Opt out of texts by replying STOP.
- Decline analytics cookies in the cookie banner.
- Request access to, or deletion of, your personal information by contacting us.
Children
4GRAND is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date above when we do, and significant changes will be noted on the site.
